Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain seeks a CCAB-qualified financial leader to partner with clinical and divisional leaders, directing monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting. You will drive efficiency programmes, develop business cases and lead a divisional finance team within a healthcare setting, applying patient-level costing and benchmarking to inform decisions.

Strong analytical skills, communication ability to explain complex finance information to non-finance colleagues, and ongoing CPD

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified accountant with ongoing professional development.
• Significant post-qualification experience in financial management.
• Experience supporting divisions to identify, track and report efficiencies.
• Experience using and improving financial systems.
• Experience dealing with contracts for supplies and services.
• In-depth knowledge of the NHS financial regime.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret, manipulate and present financial data.
• Excellent communication skills, including explaining complex financial information to non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert financial advice and build business partnering relationships with divisional and clinical leaders.
• Lead monthly reporting, forecasting and analytical review for the relevant services.
• Support budget setting, business planning and the development of robust business cases.
• Identify, cost, forecast, deliver and monitor efficiency opportunities.
• Use service line reporting, patient-level costing and benchmarking to inform decisions.
• Give clear, practical guidance to non-finance colleagues so decisions rest on robust information.
• Lead, support and develop members of the divisional finance team.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of financial systems and processes.
