Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a strategic Head of Contracts to lead the contracting function within Finance, directing negotiations, risk management and contract performance. The role drives income optimisation and alignment with NHS standards, while collaborating with ICS partners and system leaders across Wiltshire and beyond.

The post holder will shape contracting strategy, oversee governance of NHS contracts, and support reforms and national payment mechanisms,

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with NHS contracting exposure.
• Strong knowledge of NHS contracting frameworks.
• Experience managing income within the NHS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the contracting strategy and negotiations with commissioners.
• Oversee the management, governance and performance of NHS contracts.
• Ensure robust income forecasting, reconciliation and recovery.
• Advise on contractual, commercial and financial risks and opportunities.
• Lead contract performance reporting and assurance processes.
• Support national payment mechanisms and contracting reforms.
• Develop relationships across Trust, ICS partners and groups.
