Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Network Planning Manager to support design, modelling and optimization of IP and optical networks. You will focus on capacity planning, data analysis and topology documentation.

The role requires strong Excel skills, routing knowledge and the ability to work with large datasets. You will collaborate with multiple teams to validate planning outputs and deliver efficient network solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Strong Excel skills for technical analysis (formulas, pivot tables, charts).
• Fundamentals of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, routing and switching.

Responsibilities

• Assist IP and optical network capacity planning and demand forecasting.
• Analyze utilization, latency and performance metrics from network elements.
• Build and maintain Excel-based planning models with pivot tables and charts.
• Develop and maintain network topology models including routers and links.
• Evaluate upgrade options and cost/performance trade-offs.
• Document planning assumptions and engineering recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and architecture teams to verify data.
