Job summary

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, is seeking a Merchandise Planner for a maternity cover fixed-term contract of 1 year. The role focuses on forecasting demand and managing stock from the Distribution Centre to optimise availability across retail, digital, and outlets.

You will analyse sales trends, promotions, and plans to provide accurate make signals to Supply Chain and ensure on-time delivery. Strong numeracy, analytical skills and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive abilities.
• Proficient in analytics tools (SQL, BI, Excel).
• Experience with allocation and replenishment systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Very high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of merchandise planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain long-term (pre-season) and short-term (in-season) forecasts.
• Set time and size profiles for feed-in to seasonal forecasting.
• Collaborate with Merchandising to deliver forecasts for promotions and openings.
• Optimize store profiles and size/time phase in response to trading patterns.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust to maintain stock levels.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain on distribution planning and recalls.
