Job summary

Sandwell College is seeking a qualified or part-qualified Management Accountant to join the Finance and Resources team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will produce accurate management accounts, support budget holders with timely financial information, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

You will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance and senior colleagues to improve reporting, processes and financial decision-making across the College.

Qualifications

• A qualified or part-qualified accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA).
• Proficient Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
• Experience with year-end statements and external audit.
• Strong budgeting, analysis and forecasting abilities.
• Ability to analyse complex data and communicate results clearly.
• Collaborative team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end processes including journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts packs with variance analysis.
• Provide budgeting guidance to budget holders.
• Assist with annual budget setting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and audit files.
• Support year-end audits with internal and external auditors.
• Improve financial processes, controls and reporting.
• Line manage the Finance Administrator and provide training.
• Undertake financial analysis and special projects as required.
