I am currently partnered with a leading Life Insurer who are seeking a Strategic Underwriter to join their growing team. This role will be managing Post-Issue Audit Queries and Quality Audit aspects of Underwriting in this space. You will be involved in Retrospective Claims work and Rules changes within the engine.

My client is looking for an experienced Life Underwriter with strong Underwriting experience within Life, CI and IP and someone who has dealt with audit queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a robust post-issue underwriting non-disclosure quality assurance process is carried out to maximise value, collaborating with key stakeholders to drive the programme forward.
  • Analyse collected data to identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement or change.
  • Ensure post-issue communications are clear, accurate, and supported by appropriate evidence collation.
  • Contribute to the training and development of the distribution team by identifying and reporting trends where non-disclosure practices could be enhanced.
  • Recommend improvements to data collection and audit processes to maintain effective quality assurance and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Automated Underwriting Team to recommend enhancements to question sets and/or underwriting philosophy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting philosophies, processes, systems, reinsurance manuals, and internal guidelines.
  • Provide support for retrospective underwriting in claims assessments.
  • Contribute to the internal underwriting quality assurance programme.
  • Attend underwriting-related industry meetings and seminars as required.
