Job summary

Advance TRS in Birmingham is seeking a Head of Procurement for a major infrastructure programme. Lead the procurement strategy from the ground up, set policies, and build your own team to drive cost reductions and resilient supply chains.

You’ll own supplier relationships, manage the full lifecycle from sourcing to payment, and partner with operations, finance and legal to ensure seamless delivery. A senior leader who can shape how things get done and deliver long‑term value is encouraged to

Qualifications

At least 10 years in procurement, with 5+ in a senior leadership role, ideally in infrastructure or related sector.
Track record of building procurement strategies that save money and improve operations.
Strong experience negotiating contracts and managing vendors.
Able to lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.

Responsibilities

Set procurement strategy and policies for the project from the ground up.
Lead and mentor a team, building a culture of high performance.
Own supplier relationships from sourcing to negotiating terms.
Manage full procurement lifecycle from sourcing through payment.
Implement spend analysis, forecasting and risk management.
Report procurement performance to inform decisions.
Collaborate with operations, finance and legal to fit procurement into the business.
Find real cost savings and value, not just ticking boxes.
Manage supply chain risk to prevent project stalls.
Oversee supplier and subcontractor approvals on a major infrastructure programme.
