Job summary

Aberdeen City Council invites applications for Lead Principal Teacher of Pupil Support at Lochside Academy. You will provide strategic leadership to the Guidance team and oversee quality improvement, curriculum development, and accreditation within the team.

You will lead seven Principal Teachers of Guidance, act as Deputy School Child Protection Officer, and ensure attendance and wellbeing protocols are met. Flexible working is discussed where possible.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with appropriate registration with GTC Scotland.
• PVG scheme membership for working with children.
• Experience leading and coordinating pupil support or guidance teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of the Guidance team within Lochside Academy including all aspects of quality improvement.
• Lead and manage the Guidance team consisting of seven Principal Teachers of Guidance.
• Deputy School Child Protection Officer.
• Operational lead for all aspects relating to pupil attendance.
• Ensure operational compliance with national health and wellbeing protocols and statutory requirements.
• Represent the Guidance Team in decision making processes.
• Lead the facilitation of Pupil Voice within wider school improvement processes.
• Responsible for curriculum development and accreditation within the Guidance Team.
