Walsall Council is seeking a Strategic Place Lead for Physical Activity to drive the borough’s place-based physical activity framework and action plan. This senior role leads cross-agency collaboration, champions innovative activity interventions, and works to reduce inequalities in participation.

The post is full-time, secondment or fixed-term, with a salary range of £53,051 to £56,293 per annum, and runs until 31 March 2028. Closing date is 13 November 2026, with interviews in late November.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the physical activity place-based partnership and borough-wide action plan.
• Influence policy, secure investment opportunities, and champion innovative approaches to increase activity participation.
• Engage with staff, organisations, and community groups to build capacity and target support to those most in need.
