Job summary

Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a Lead for the Music on Sea service to design, develop, manage and deliver music education across the borough, working with partners, funders and schools.

The post includes line management of one Music Support Officer and up to 50 peripatetic music teachers, based at the Civic Centre with flexible travel and occasional home-working. Salary is pro rata for term-time working; contract permanent hybrid 3.5 days per week; start asap.

• Passion for high-quality music education for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, management and delivery of Music Services for Southend, Music-on-Sea.
• Line manage one Music Support Officer and up to 50 peripatetic music teachers.
• Provide strategic leadership to embed GEMH transition and regional coordination.
• Collaborate with schools, partners and funders to deliver the National Plan for Music Education.
