Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to a high-quality standard across the organisation.

You will work closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to define, shape, and deliver project objectives, applying PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies, managing risks, and driving initiatives from inception through to completion in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent, with project management expertise.
• Experience managing multi-million-pound IT projects.
• Knowledge of formal delivery methodologies (PRINCE2, Agile).
• Willingness to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of IT projects across the portfolio.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with clear success measures.
• Produce investment case papers to support project proposals.
• Maintain the change calendar for all planned service-impacting activities.
• Identify and manage demand on IT resources, ensuring team capacity is aligned.
• Support the IT Director in prioritising initiatives based on demand and business needs.
• Communicate project expectations clearly to team members and stakeholders.
• Proactively manage project risks and elevate where appropriate through governance channels.
• Apply robust change control processes for any deviations from agreed objectives.
