Job summary

Farnell, an Avnet company, invites a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to join our global team in Leeds. You will serve as a strategic security partner, ensuring security is embedded into business processes and decisions across units, while enabling growth and innovation.

You will collaborate with IT, Engineering and Operations teams, support risk assessments, governance forums and compliance initiatives such as ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI DSS, NIST, and CIS frameworks.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in information security, cybersecurity, IT risk or governance roles.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management principles.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business language for diverse audiences.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and executives.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary cybersecurity advisor to assigned business units and build trusted relationships with business leaders.
• Partner with stakeholders to embed security early in initiatives and projects.
• Translate cybersecurity risks into clear business impacts and actionable recommendations.
