Job summary

Building Careers UK is seeking a Buyer for groundworks, aggregates & concrete based in Warrington. You will procure groundworks materials, negotiate terms with suppliers, manage supplier relationships, and raise POs to support project delivery.

Ideal candidates have construction industry buying experience, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems, plus a full UK driving licence. Excellent benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Buyer in the construction industry.
• Procures groundworks materials and civil engineering supplies.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Good commercial awareness and cost control experience.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Procure groundworks materials, aggregates, concrete, drainage products.
• Source and negotiate best commercial terms with suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships and develop new supply chain opportunities.
• Raise and process purchase orders in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Estimating, and Operations to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing, and lead times.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance.
• Support project teams to ensure materials meet programmes.
