Job summary

The Sycamore Church of England Trust is seeking a Governance and Risk Lead to shape governance, risk and compliance across a growing family of schools. You will work with Trustees, governors and senior leaders to strengthen controls, assurance and accountability.

The role offers a senior leadership platform, scope to build a small team and to drive continuous improvement across the Trust's governance framework, policies and regulatory commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, compliance, risk, audit, assurance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance for the Board of Trustees and Local Academy Committees, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and constitutional requirements.
• Develop and maintain governance frameworks, templates and resources to promote accountable decision-making across the Trust.
• Coordinate recruitment, induction and ongoing development of Trustees and Governors; support hearings, complaints and statutory panel processes.
• Lead and embed risk management across the Trust, producing risk reports and assurance information for Trustees and senior leaders.
• Line-manage the governance, compliance and risk function, allocating workload and driving continuous improvement.
