Job summary

Co-op Group in Manchester is seeking a Senior Financial Planning and Regulatory Manager to lead planning, forecasting and reporting across Life Services. You will partner with senior leaders to turn data into actionable insights, ensure regulatory compliance and drive governance improvements.

The role offers hybrid working between home and the office, a salary circa £100,000 with private healthcare, a car allowance or company car, and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial experience in FP&A and business partnering.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and performance management skills with ability to influence senior leaders.
• Ability to turn complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building across teams.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams in a complex environment.
• Understanding of financial governance, controls and regulatory reporting.
• Passion for improving finance operations with new technologies and AI.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, forecasting and reporting across Life Services with timely performance insight.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting with variance analysis and recommendations.
• Provide financial challenge and guidance to senior stakeholders for strategic decisions.
• Lead performance analysis to identify risks, opportunities and improvements.
• Develop financial models and scenario planning for long-term performance.
• Ensure accurate regulatory returns and strong governance and controls.
• Drive process improvements in planning and reporting using technology and AI.
• Coach and develop a high-performing team across Life Services and Group Finance.
