Job summary

Peterborough City Council is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to support strategic decisions across the organisation. You will provide expert financial advice to senior leaders, challenge budgets, and help deliver value for money.

You will lead financial management for a designated service area, develop models, analyze trends, assess risks, and present options for future planning. You will also oversee budget setting, monitoring and year-end processes.

Qualifications

• Requires a CCAB accounting qualification and membership.
• Experience delivering financial advice to senior public sector stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial controls and local authority regulations.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into practical, strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial management for a designated service area.
• Develop financial models, analyse trends and assess risks and opportunities.
• Oversee budget setting, budget monitoring, capital programme management and year-end processes.
• Coach and develop team members and deputise for the Head of Finance as required.
