Job summary

Innovate UK is seeking a Finance Business Partner on a 12-month fixed-term basis in Swindon. The post provides dedicated finance expertise, reporting and business partnering to inform decision-making and deliver outcomes aligned with Innovate UK and UKRI priorities.

The role requires engagement with internal and external stakeholders, strong governance, budgeting and forecasting capabilities, and occasional travel across the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA or equivalent (QBE)
• Strong accounting/finance knowledge in a similar role
• Excellent IT skills, esp. Excel
• Experience in financial modelling & controls (S/I)
• Experience with month/year-end processes and analyses (S/I)
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and providing advice (S/I)
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and governance in projects (I)

Responsibilities

• Provide finance expertise, insight, reporting and business partnering to inform decision-making
• Support programme managers and senior leaders with timely financial information and advice
• Deputise for the Senior FPB as required
• Strengthen internal controls, financial reporting and analysis across UKRI
• Manage annual and multi-year budget setting and forecasting cycles
• Ensure compliance with internal financial, DSIT and HM Government controls
• Travel within the UK to engage with partners as needed
