Job summary

Altum Consulting is recruiting an Assistant Director, Head of Finance and Operations for a medical membership organisation. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, facilities, operations and procurement to maximise impact for members and communities.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the role emphasises transformation, strong controls and influential stakeholder engagement within a values-led setting. Hybrid work with London presence is offered.

Qualifications

• Significant senior finance leadership experience.
• Experience across strategic and operational finance.
• Strong track record in transformation, systems improvement and process development.
• Inclusive and collaborative leadership with prior team management.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex financial matters clearly.
• Commercially and strategically minded with ability to challenge senior stakeholders.
• Motivated by values-led organisations and broader finance remit.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance, facilities, operations and procurement with a team of 4 (total 10 in the wider group).
• Act as strategic partner to the Director of Corporate Services and Leadership Team.
• Provide clear financial and operational insight, challenge and recommendations for decisions.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial planning.
• Develop business partnering to align resources with strategic priorities.
• Maintain strong financial controls, compliance and risk management.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, processes and ways of working.
• Oversee procurement, business continuity and operational resilience.
• Lead organisation-wide programmes and change initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable culture with matrix leadership.
