Job summary

Huntress is supporting an independent school trust in the appointment of a Head of Finance. You will lead the finance team, ensuring robust controls and providing financial insight to support strategic decisions.

The role requires a professionally qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred) with significant financial management experience, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and audits, ideally within education or charitable sectors.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with significant financial management experience.
• Strong track record in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Experience leading audits, statutory reporting and a finance team.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of half-termly management accounts, financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Oversee annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and longer-term planning.
• Provide financial analysis and modelling to support strategic decisions and oversee treasury and controls.
• Manage fee billing, income collection, debt management and payroll oversight.
