Job summary

A manufacturing SME in South Yorkshire is seeking a Finance Director to drive growth and oversee financial strategy. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with substantial experience in the manufacturing sector and small business environments. Responsibilities include managing budgets, creating management accounts, and providing strategic insights to the Senior Leadership Team. Qualifications

  • Experience leading financial strategy in a small or medium-sized business.
  • Confidence in challenging senior leadership and making impactful decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for business growth with the MD and Head of Sales.
  • Review company expenditure for cost savings and efficiency.
  • Analyse product cost margins and provide insights to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Oversee departmental budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Produce timely and accurate management accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial obligations.
  • Manage cash flow and financial transactions.
  • Administer statutory returns and pension schemes.

Skills

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Strong experience within the manufacturing sector
Proven background working in an SME environment
Demonstrates commercial acumen with a strategic mindset
Experience operating on Senior Leadership Team
Adapts to challenges in distressed businesses
