Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an Enterprise Architect (Digital, Data & AI) to lead architecture across the organisation’s digital transformation. You will shape strategies, roadmaps and standards that enable secure, scalable solutions while aligning with regulatory requirements.

You will work with senior leaders to deliver enterprise-wide architecture outcomes, mentor EA colleagues and influence technology strategy in a complex, high-impact rail environment. Hybrid working 3 days in Milton Keynes.

Qualifications

• Strong business and commercial acumen with ability to link strategy to architecture outcomes.
• Knowledge of TOGAF or SFIA frameworks and enterprise architecture practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and collaboration skills for senior stakeholders.
• Proven problem-solving capabilities and analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with digital, data and AI technologies and architecture methods.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise architecture strategies, target states and roadmaps for digital, data and AI initiatives.
• Develop and govern EA artefacts (reference architectures, roadmaps, business cases).
• Lead and mentor EA team members across business, data, application and technology domains.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver architecture outcomes aligned to business value.
• Manage the EA framework as coherent reference materials for decision making.
• Proactively track new technologies and drive rapid prototyping to accelerate value.
