Job summary

The Academy is seeking a strategic Chief Finance Officer to lead financial governance across the Trust, shaping budgeting, reporting and financial controls for multiple schools.

You will oversee three-year forecasting, payroll reconciliation, annual budgets uploads, and pensions audits, working with external auditors and the CEO to secure best value and informed decision making in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified with professional accounting qualification (CIPFA/ACCA/ACA/CIMA/AAT).
• Experience in school finance or government funding.
• Minimum of 2 years in a senior finance role.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Trust finance policies and procedures and provide expert advice.
• Assist with development of systems and procedures for efficient finance management.
• Coordinate Teachers' Pensions audit with auditors and payroll provider.
• Lead monthly payroll reconciliation and posting of journals.
• Prepare 3-year budget forecast for Central Team.
• Upload annual budgets for all schools and monitor performance against budget.
• Provide monthly budget monitoring reports to CEO and stakeholders.
• Month-end reconciliations and checks as prescribed.
• Respond to queries to maintain a positive Trust image.
