Job summary

Ad Warrior Ltd is seeking a Development Management Team Leader within the Planning Service to lead a team of Planning Officers and deliver high-quality planning outcomes across the district of Bassetlaw.

Reporting to the Planning Development Manager, you will allocate work, oversee decisions, and represent the Council on Planning Committee matters, appeals and inquiries, driving service improvement and customer-focused delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within Development Management.
• Sound knowledge of planning legislation, policy and practice.
• Experience of managing complex planning applications and presenting to Planning Committee.
• Strong communication, decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Development Management team.
• Allocate and oversee work, ensuring quality decisions and performance standards.
• Act as the Council's lead officer at Planning Committee, appeals and inquiries.
• Assess complex planning applications and support planning enforcement activity.
• Drive service improvement, customer satisfaction and income generation opportunities.
• Help shape the future direction and success of the Planning Service.
