Job summary

Haskel, part of Ingersoll Rand, seeks a Cost Accountant to ensure robust inventory and WIP control while delivering margin analysis to support Sunderland manufacturing profitability. You will work with operations, support FP&A, and analyze cost drivers using JD Edwards and advanced Excel.

The role emphasizes standard costing, variance analysis, budgeting assistance, and cross-functional collaboration with cost centre owners in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• CIMA / ACCA qualified, or part-qualified.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance preferred but not essential.
• Manufacturing cost accounting experience desirable.
• JD Edwards knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• VAT processes knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and review standard costs for raw materials, labour, and overheads.
• Prepare and analyse cost variances: material, labour, overhead, PPV.
• Perform margin analysis by product, customer, or production line.
• Manage and control inventory accounting in JD Edwards.
• Reconcile WIP and ensure proper capitalization of production costs.
• Lead cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support VAT returns and UK compliance.
• Provide detailed variance analysis to cost centre owners.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A activities.
• Utilise JD Edwards to extract and report financial data.
• Respond to ad hoc requests with timely analysis.
• Drive process improvements in finance and manufacturing.
