Working arrangements - Hybrid - Minimum of 2 days a week on site

Office location - County Hall Chichester or County Hall North Horsham

Statement of Works
  • Review the current situation of the WSCC alternative provision services, alongside the wider SEND provision, using the structure of the SEND & AP Change Programme with its 3-tier model as a framework.
  • Plan how to achieve a sustainable 3-tier service for Alternative Provision (AP).
  • Support the creation of the Local Area Inclusion Plan (LAIP), while using the LAIP process to forecast demand for alternative provision over a multi-year period.
  • Engage with providers and settings how demand can best be met.
  • Focus on early and accurate identification of needs and inclusion.
  • Advise and support strategic and individual commissioning of services, and ensuring any changes to service delivery are based on creating an inclusive system with improved provision in mainstream schools.
  • Develop a range of resources to monitor impact and effectiveness.
  • Develop the council’s strategy for Appropriate and Alternative Provision

  • An understanding of commissioning services.
  • Ability to apply reflective practice.
  • Knowledge of the SEND and AP Change Programme
