Job summary

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea seeks a Commercial Property Lead to shape a diverse portfolio spanning retail to office space, driving income, reducing vacancies and ensuring estate supports council services and community investment.

You will oversee landlord/tenant transactions, lead on investment and asset management strategies, and manage lettings across a broad estate. Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and public-sector budgeting are essential.

Qualifications

• Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with significant commercial property or real estate management experience.
• Strong understanding of landlord and tenant law and confident negotiating complex leases and transactions.
• Experience leading teams, driving improvements and managing budgets in the public sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and evolution of the commercial property portfolio (≈£19 million annually).
• Lead landlord and tenant transactions including rent reviews and lease renewals; provide strategic property advice.
• Lead investment and asset management strategies; manage lettings for Operational and VCS portfolios.
