Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd in Preston seeks an experienced Commercial Director / Head of Commercial to lead the company's strategic direction and drive profitability across the full contract lifecycle. You will partner with operations, estimating and finance to shape the commercial strategy, oversee negotiations of complex contracts and manage risk while developing the central estimating function.

Qualifications

• Senior-level commercial leadership experience within construction or the built environment.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• Experience managing complex customer, supplier and subcontractor agreements.
• Experience across the full contract lifecycle from tender to final account.
• Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field; Chartered status advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership and governance across the business.
• Oversee commercial performance and governance across divisions and lifecycle.
• Lead negotiations of complex customer, supplier and subcontractor agreements.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risk across contracts and change.
• Develop and monitor tools for revenue, margin, cost, cash and opportunities.
• Support operational leaders to improve efficiency and opportunities for improvement.
