Job summary

Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) seeks a Portfolio Manager to join the Change Portfolio team. The role focuses on delivering key organisational changes to support Defra’s Outcomes Framework, improve efficiency, and modernise ways of working across the department.

The post holder will oversee major change initiatives, provide governance insight, and work with stakeholders across Defra and its Arms Length Bodies to prioritise resources and drive delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of significant change initiatives contributing to departmental or business objectives.
• Provide insight, information and support to strengthen portfolio governance and enable prioritisation decisions and effective allocation of resources across the portfolio.
• Ensure optimal delivery of Defra's outcomes and government priorities by analysing information sources and engaging with programme and project stakeholders.
• Use appropriate reporting methods to convert insights into informed decision making.
