Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Limited in the UK is seeking a Category Lead to drive procurement strategy for key spend areas. You will lead supplier relationships, negotiate long-term agreements, and target best value across complex projects.

In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver savings, manage risk, and support new product introductions while maintaining compliance with EH&S and quality standards. This is a permanent, on-site position at Llay, Wrexham.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent vision requirements.
• 3–5 years procurement experience or equivalent in a customer-facing role.
• Desirable: working towards CIPS qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategy for assigned category.
• Lead supplier negotiations and RFQs for allocated projects.
• Manage supplier relations to deliver cost, service, and quality targets.
• Support Category Buyer in strategy implementation and analysis.
• Prepare regular supplier performance reports and savings analyses.
• Collaborate with Product and Innovation to support portfolio and new launches.
