Job summary

A leading financial services software company in Greater London is seeking an experienced sales professional to join their Private Equity team. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of sales experience and a strong understanding of private capital markets. You will communicate the impact of our product offerings and own the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to closing. This full-time role also offers the opportunity to work alongside talented professionals in a dynamic and innovative environment.

The Team Youll Work With

Were looking for talented salespeople to join our Private Equity team focused on selling fund administration. Our customers are primarily Private Equity and Private Credit Funds. Cartas platform allows these clients to track and manage their portfolios while liaising with their investors.

As a member of the Private Equity sales team youll introduce top tier clients to our wide range of (Carta built) product offerings including Fund Administration (via Cartas event base accounting general ledger) digital KYC portfolio management reporting and analytics investor management investor portal valuations and data collection.

Carta offers a tech-focused investor portal to both the fund GPs / Admins and also their investors / LPs as well as their portfolio companies with our cap table offering. Carta has developed an equity ownership management platform exclusively for Private Equity Firms and their portfolio company management teams. This includes the first and only Advanced Scenario Modeling tool capable of handling the most complex Private Equity waterfalls empowering deal teams valuations teams and management teams to get out of excel and improve accuracy and time to insight for some of their most important strategic decisions.

The Problems Youll Solve
  • Communicate the business impact of our full product offerings to key decision makers
  • Demonstrate ability to influence through persuasion negotiation and consensus-building to identify and sell new opportunities
  • Own sales cycles that could be up to 12 months
  • Understand customer needs and requirements and act as a trusted business advisor
  • Build and expand a network across the industry to enhance Cartas visibility and create new business opportunities
  • Drive revenue through strategic outbound prospecting
  • Own the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to close
  • Working with Delivery and R&D teams to devise the optimum operating model for prospects
  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and sales plan that ensures consistent achievement of goals over the short and long-term
  • Supporting the Business Development team at industry events conferences and seminars (as required)
About You
  • Bachelors degree
  • 8 years of sales experience
  • Minimum 5 years selling into Private Equity funds at a Fund Administrator (or Fund Administration adjacent company)
  • You have experience with and potentially existing contacts within the private capital markets community (lawyers investors bankers accountants etc.) as well as within the General Partner / Limited Partner / PortCo communities.
  • In-depth understanding of fund structures (Private Equity Venture Capital or Private Credit)
  • Experience managing a pipeline and closing large contracts
  • Proven ability to execute especially negotiation and closing
  • Intellectually curious fast learner
  • Articulate poised and concise

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in venture capital private equity institutional investing wealth management or high growth fintech
  • Relevant sales experience in a SaaS or financial services organization
