Qualifications

  • 4-5 years in warehouse as team lead or shift lead.
  • Proven experience with inventory and stock management.
  • Logistics and shipment experience is a bonus.
  • Previous experience managing associates is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of SHE Protocols.

Are you ready to lead a great warehouse team and make an impact in a scientific environment? Due to internal promotion, we are looking for our new Stores Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day warehouse operations of our services team at a key customer site in Slough. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure seamless delivery of internal inventory and logistic services by managing health and safety compliance, staff training, and operational performance. You'll be the go‑to person for coordinating with our key stakeholders on site, and suppliers, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently. The role itself is a full time, permanent role at our customer’s site in Slough!

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and Direct: Guide team efforts and perform work outlined in Scope of Work (SOW) to meet customer requirements.
  • Coach and Motivate: Inspire team members to achieve and exceed goals through mentoring and professional development. Organize external training for stores staff.
  • Manage Operations: Oversee open order status reports, customer metrics, departmental reports, and maintain SOPs/SOWs.
  • Develop Talent: Provide training and act as backup for associates to ensure continuity of tasks.
  • Handle Administration: Conduct performance appraisals, succession planning, and workload scheduling.
  • Maintain Compliance: Create and update SOPs, Risk Assessments (RA), COSHH assessments, KPIs, and Tiered Daily Management (TDM).
  • Collaborate: Serve as a liaison between the customer, stores, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Add Value: Bring industry insights and best practices to enhance customer experience.
  • Additional responsibilities to be overseen by the Stores Manager:
    • Liquid Nitrogen filling
    • Shipping dry ice to the site laboratories
    • Handle solvent waste, and decontamination
    • Handle medical gases
Education
  • BA degree, or proven track of similar experiences
Experience
  • 4-5 years in warehouse as team lead, shift lead
  • Proven experience with inventory and stock management
  • Logistics and shipment experience is a bonus
  • Previous experience managing associates is essential
  • Strong knowledge of SHE Protocols
