Job summary

JMC Aviation is seeking a Stores Manager to lead the stores and logistics function for a UK aviation maintenance environment. The role focuses on efficient parts provisioning, stock management, team leadership and close collaboration with production to optimise turnaround times.

You will own the stock, manage minimum stock levels, supervise the stores team and report to CTO/CFO. Experience in tooling systems and UK work eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

  • Background in stores/logistics within an aviation environment.
  • Experience in stock control and stock management.
  • Management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience in managing tooling systems.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently deliver the parts/spares requirements of the business to improve turnaround times.
  • Maintain and manage the minimum stock requirements of the business in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provide management overview to stores whilst managing the team.
  • Report directly to CTO/CFO on the department.
  • Take ownership of all stock plus manage all minimum stock requirements.
  • Provide parts updates to the progress chaser and production team to optimise workshop turnaround.
  • Take ownership of the PO process, raise and manage POs.
  • Perform vendor audits to remain compliant with company approvals.
  • Budgetary control of stock.
  • Provide customs and logistics cover for import/export when staff are on leave
  • Communicate with production to allocate resources based on part ETAs
  • Manage vendor contracts/relationships for ground and lifting equipment

Job description

On behalf of our client, a leading UK independent Engine MRO, we are currently recruiting for a Stores Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic environment with a strong focus on safety, compliance and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently deliver the parts/spares requirements of the business to improve the efficiency on turnaround times of work
  • Maintain and manage the minimum stock requirements of the business in a cost-effective manner
  • Provide management overview to stores whilst managing the team
  • Report directly to CTO/CFO on the department
  • Take ownership of all stock plus manage all minimum stock requirements
  • Provide parts updates to the progress chaser and production team in order to achieve the best to best turn around on workshop tasks
  • Take ownership of the PO process, raise and manage POs
  • Perform Vendor audits to remain compliant with company approvals
  • Budgetary control of stock
  • Provide customs and logistics cover for import and export activities when customs and logistics staff are on leave
  • Communicate regularly with production so that part ETAs can be used to correctly allocate resources across the business
  • Manage vendor contracts and relationships for ground and lifting equipment
