Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stores & Logistics Operative to join our team.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing inventory, organising the storage of construction equipment parts, and facilitating the smooth flow of materials within our organisation.

This role will include general maintenance around the head office such as general store maintenance, receiving and distributing plant and materials, vehicle fleet management, weekly maintenance checks, basic grounds maintenance etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate issuing of parts and materials and the maintenance of stock.
  • Occasional deliveries and collection of parts and materials etc.
  • Oversee the company fleet of vehicles.
  • Inventory management.
  • Ensure that received goods are checked off accurately and timely and for damages and quantity.
  • Update computer systems to enable accurate stock levels.
  • Get parts and materials ready for engineers, customers, and couriers.
  • Carry out regular stock checks and update systems.
  • Keep all stores and storage areas clean and tidy.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of parts and materials from vehicles and assist other Harvey staff in this task where necessary.
  • To unlock and lock up all stores and storage areas as required.
  • Follow all company and site Health & Safety regulations.
  • Distribute relevant PPE and staff uniforms as required.
  • Carry out general building maintenance.
  • Ad hock repairs on the site e.g., general plumbing, groundwork, painting, affixing whiteboards, and shelving if required etc.
  • Represent Harvey Group in a professional manner.

To fully support the team, there may be other duties required to ensure an effective and efficient service which is delivered in accordance with Harvey Group. Person Specification
Essential Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities
  • Have previous experience in a similar role.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Experience in responding to customer queries from multiple sources such as email and phone.
  • Familiar with WMS for stock control.
  • Be capable of working on own initiative.
  • Good time keeping skills.
  • Be flexible in your approach to work and have an ability to carry out, where necessary, other tasks essential to the smooth running of the business.
  • Can work with and relate to colleagues to achieve the company goals.
  • Health & Safety training.
Desirable Experience
  • Electrical / plumbing / joiner trade experience.
  • IOSH or similar qualification
  • Fork truck license (training can be provided).
