Job Introduction Do you enjoy a varied and busy role and pride yourself on delivering excellent customer service? Do you have experience in carrying out minor maintenance work, cleaning or a background in warehousing and hold a counter balance fork lift truck license? If so, please read on!

We are looking for a self-motivated individual, to join our team as a Stores & Facilities Caretaker.

You will be working Monday Friday, 37 hours a week between the hours of 10:00am-6:15pm with a 45 minute lunch break. You will be primarily based at Bromsgrove Council Depot and carry out housekeeping around the external yard and ensure the building is secure at the end of the working day.

Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. Key Requirements
  • Clean Depot building, including offices, toilets, kitchen and canteen
  • Carrying out cleaning and housekeeping of external yard area
  • Secure building and Depot at the end of the working day
  • Assist the Supplies unit with unloading of deliveries and the safe storage of the items
  • Carry out minor maintenance work around site when required
  • Liaise with contractors on site as required
Skills & Experience
  • 1 to 2 years experience Yard person/cleaner/Warehouse/Stores
  • Able to cope with the physical demands of the role
  • Must be able to carry out manual duties in all weathers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and demonstrate initiative to solve problems with limited resources
  • Reliable and good timekeeper
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • Counterbalance forklift truck license
  • Full UK driving license
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance
