Job Title: Stores Engineer
Location: Rochester
Shift: Days
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

An opportunity has become available for a proactive and highly organised Stores Person to join our Engineering team. The role involves supporting the Engineering Manager and maintenance department by managing the stores area, maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring efficient flow of materials and equipment.

Stores Engineer Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries to ensure they match purchase orders.
  • Correctly label and store items within the engineering stores area.
  • Keep inventory levels up to date using the company's stock management software.
  • Issue tools, parts and materials to engineers when requested.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised warehouse environment.
  • Complete routine stocktakes, investigate discrepancies and update records.
  • Prepare and dispatch outgoing goods where required.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist in improving stores procedures to support reliability and efficiency.
Stores Engineer Experience
  • Previous background in an engineering stores or warehouse role.
  • Understanding of common engineering components and materials.
  • Experience with stock control processes and stocktaking.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and record‑keeping skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and stock/purchasing systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
  • Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks safely.
  • Commitment to safe working practices.
