Customer Team Leader
Location: The Co-operative Food, Hillside, Brae, Shetland, ZE2 9QG
Pay: £13.99 per hour plus travel support allowance
Contract: 24 or 39 hours per week with regular overtime
Working pattern: shifts between 6am and 2pm or 2pm and 10pm – we are happy to discuss your availability at interview.
Full, paid training provided.
Travel allowance details will be discussed at interview. Please ensure you can commute safely to and from the store for opening and closing.

You must be aged 18 or over to be a Customer Team Leader at Co‑op, as you will need to authorise age‑related sales.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver friendly, thoughtful service and take ownership of managing the store and handling challenging customer situations.
  • Develop your team’s capabilities through coaching, training and fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Ensure the store remains safe, legal and fully operational.
  • Manage diligence checks and maintain stock accuracy to create an enjoyable customer experience.
  • Support the store manager by deputising and delivering various HR processes.
  • Lead the introduction of new products and services, working closely with your team to implement change.
  • Build relationships and engage with the local community, supporting the delivery of the local Co‑op community plan.
