Overview

The Store Operations Manager is responsible for leading store operations initiatives including facilities (40% of the role), loss prevention/safety/security (30% of the role), PO management and other operational work across multiple retail locations around the world (30% of the role). This role ensures operational excellence by developing processes, managing vendors, and maintaining brand standards through timely, cost-effective solutions. Acting as the primary decision-maker for facilities, loss prevention, safety and security, the role partners with leadership to minimize disruption, enforce safety and risk management protocols, and supporting compliance through audits and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive responsibility in Retail Business Operations, Business Optimization, Project Management or Sales & Operations Planning.

  • Experience in working in a multi-channel / multi-geography retail business

  • Strong stakeholder management and proven influencing skills

  • Highly organized, accurate and calendar driven, with ability to handle many competing priorities.

  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision

  • Proficient in MS Office applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all aspects of the business

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred; however, candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.

Responsibilities
Operations
  • Oversee and assess facilities, safety, security and loss prevention policies and protocols across locations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to reduce incident rates and improve overall safety and security for both Associates and guests.

  • Lead facilities management across assigned locations by developing effective policies, managing vendors, and ensuring all work is timely, cost-effective, and meets brand standards.

  • Serve as the key decision-maker for facilities work in stores, partnering closely with store leadership to address needs and minimize disruptions.

  • Establish clear vendor expectations, performance metrics, and follow-up mechanisms to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct audits and establish follow-up mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of facilities, safety, security and loss prevention efforts and processes.

  • Provides guidance and support to stores throughout the end-to-end purchase order (PO) process, including creation, submission, and ongoing management.

Reporting, Budgeting & Training

  • Maintain and update the Everbridge system/Emergency Action Plans and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all safety and security training and best practices remain current and consistent across locations.

  • Partner with Store Leadership, Finance and Commercial teams to ensure alignment with budget targets and support the 3-year CAPEX planning process, including store construction and long-lead items.

  • Provide stores with continuous support and training throughout the end-to-end purchase order (PO) process, ensuring a standardized tracking and reporting process globally.

Relationships & Collaboration
  • Develop a strong connection with the Mars Global Security team to streamline support, enhance training initiatives, and facilitate the sharing of best practices, ensuring a robust security framework that aligns with Mars' commitment to safety and compliance.

  • Partner with Store teams to manage Security staffing, monitor risk, and conduct investigations into incidents, theft, and shrink, providing recommendations to leadership.

  • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure vendor selection meets standards, fostering strong partnerships that uphold brand reputation.

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Store Ops, Store Teams, S&F, P&O, Commercial, Security, Mars Global Services vendors and other external partners.

Project & Process Management
  • Lead end-to-end project ideation, planning, and execution for facilities, safety, risk management, and loss prevention initiatives, managing time, cost, and competing priorities.

  • Build and guide cross-functional project teams, identify risks, and monitor progress through established benchmarks to ensure successful delivery.

  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and end users, while capturing key learnings and feedback through After-Action Reviews (AARs).

  • Drive business process optimization by analyzing internal/external feedback and data, enhancing the integrated planning calendar, and identifying efficiency opportunities across teams.

  • Optimize the end-to-end purchase order (PO) process, including creation, submission, and ongoing management.
