Sainsbury's Limited in Halifax is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our convenience store operations. You’ll be accountable for customer experience, sales, safety, and legal compliance while guiding Customer and Trading Managers and frontline colleagues.

You’ll use data and insight to plan trading activity, manage HR processes including dismissals per policy, and drive change while maintaining team wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an operation with accountability for customer, financial and organisational outcomes.
• Ability to use data and insight to inform planning and improve performance.
• Experience navigating HR policies including employee relations and dismissals.
• Proven track record delivering excellent customer experiences and driving store performance.

Responsibilities

• Take full control of the store, lead shifts and plan trading activities with a commercial mindset.
• Ensure safety, legal compliance and a high standard of service for customers.
• Lead and develop Customer and Trading Managers to meet KPIs and store targets.
• Use data to anticipate issues today and up to 6 months ahead and drive change.
• Manage employee relations with care and consistency while supporting wellbeing.

What you’ll be doing:

Our Convenience Store Managers have full control over their shop. They’re accountable leaders who ensure we deliver on our purpose to make good food, joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day. Their team of Customer and Trading Managers run the shifts, and they plan and prepare for upcoming trading activity being commercially minded and anticipating issues from today to 6 months from now, making sure everything is safe and legal. Retail’s ever evolving with new business initiatives and change programmes and there are always difficult decisions to be made. It’s a job with a lot of responsibility but also one that is highly rewarding.

• Has experience leading an operation with accountabilities for delivering customer, financial and organisational outcomes.
