Job summary

Lidl GB in the United Kingdom is seeking a Store Maintenance Operative to uphold and improve our stores across the Wednesbury region. You’ll handle groundwork repairs, plumbing, painting, tiling and general maintenance with a jack‑of‑all‑trades mindset.

We offer a competitive salary (£32,000–£34,000 per year), 30 days holiday pro rata, 10% in-store discount, enhanced family leave, and a contributory pension. Training and career development are supported.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance work.
• Strong numeracy skills.
• Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
• Flexibility with regards to working hours as some evenings and weekends will be required.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable (i.e. NVQ, BTEC).
• An eye for detail in a busy working environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural maintenance in both stores and warehouses.
• Attend to general building and labouring work.
• Put your decorating skills to good use, including painting and tiling.
• Confidently carry out general plumbing duties.
• Frequently use power tools.
• Undertake PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) visits to store and work proactively to find and repair faults.
• Collaborate and work alongside external contractors to complete complex maintenance tasks.
• Follow and encourage good working practices whilst being the health and safety guru.
