Store Designer & Visualiser

Our Planning & Space teams are right at the heart of what we do. Surrounded by some of the best Planning & Space specialists in the industry, you’ll bring your own ideas to the business - helping to shape the experience of our customers as part of a forward-thinking team.

As Retail Designer & Visualiser, you will support the strategic development of our store environment through the creation of designs, 3D visualisations, 2D plans and presentation packs.

Your role will range from creating initial concepts with sketches, mood boards, materials sourcing research data decks through to full scheme development decks including visuals of the chosen scheme, presentation decks to demonstrate ideas back to stakeholders & Detailed decks for delivery purposes & helping manage the prototype and pilot store delivery.

What You’ll Do:

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to‑day:

  1. Create designs for all ranges of retail display from individual fixtures through to full department concepts.
  2. Visualise all concepts in appropriate rendering programme for internal presentation and review.
  3. Create 2d plans to demonstrate layout principles, customer flow and calculate linear values.
  4. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current retail and design trends and competitor initiatives.
  5. Create BOQ’s of equipment as part of developing concept designs into F&F orders for prototyping and piloting.
  6. Ability to design to a budget and knowledgeable to VE principles.
  7. Ability to produce presentation decks using PowerPoint and/or InDesign.
  8. Understand product density terminology (linear, skus, sales density etc) to be able to work to briefs and data from Buying and Merchandising teams (not essential).
What You’ll Bring

  1. A relevant Degree in Design, and/or minimum 5 years of relevant experience in retail design.
  2. Knowledgeable about retail design standards and materials.
  3. Proficiency in Sketchup and Vray and AutoCAD systems – must be able to produce good quality visuals for visual decks.
  4. Proficiency in Adobe suite - predominantly Photoshop and InDesign.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel.
  6. Ability to sketch is a big advantage.
