Job summary

Superdry is seeking an experienced Store Designer to translate concepts into finished store roll outs worldwide. You will work with UK, EU and international architects and contractors to ensure timely delivery, budget control and high-quality finishes.

The role requires strong Revit and AutoCAD skills, knowledge of building regulations, and experience in retail environments. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate across the project lifecycle to ensure cohesive designs that meet site

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ of relevant experience in store design industry.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD and able to read technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations and landlord requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement plans into company and franchise store roll outs to required standards.
• Deliver drawing packages to full construction status with coordination across teams.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and consultants to coordinate ME&P and structural issues.
• Prepare risk assessments under CDM Regulations and identify design risks.
• Mentor junior team members and support senior management and project managers.
• Site visits to ensure site conditions reflect design intent.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team that is responsible for the look and feel of Superdry stores across the world. The Store Development Team not only design and build the stores but also maintain them whilst looking after the Health and Safety for the business.

As store designer you will be responsible for the implementation of plans into company and franchise store roll outs, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the high quality of finish expected.

Coming from a background in a similar position, ideally within retail, you will have a thorough understanding of CAD/Revit software and technical architectural drawings as well as building regulations, landlord management and an excellent attention to detail.

You Will

• Maintain relationships with UK, EU and International architects and contractors ensuring local interpretation is correct, timescales are in-line with projections and where appropriate work to overcome delays to projects.
• Develop schematic designs in accordance with concept guidelines, ensuring compliance with building regulations and landlord criteria to the global development programme.
• Support in the design layout and implementation to uplift store densities in the UK, Europe & International, ensuring they reflect site conditions and meet requirements.
• Deliver the drawing package to full construction status, incorporating standard details and liaising with both internal and external teams to develop non-standard detail proposals as required.
• Liaise with the consultant team to ensure the integration of all ME&P and structural issues, to provide a fully coordinated tender set, to an agreed development programme.
• Prepare architectural risk assessments in accordance with the CDM Regulations are completed, understanding any risks associated with the design.
• Work to support the senior management team and design team as required.
• Work closely with the project manager throughout the lifecycle of a project and conduct site visits where necessary
• Maintain and update the internal set of standard details at any time. When new concepts are introduced, standard details must be drawn and updated.
• Mentor junior members of the team, giving the opportunity to progress into future roles.

You Are

• Someone who is highly competent in the use of Revit and AutoCAD
• Competent in the use of Adobe Photoshop
• Minimum 5 years’ of relevant experience in store design industry
• Great at planning and organising
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive and able to plan ahead.
• Comfortable in reporting back to senior managers
• Able to challenge decisions and situations if unmanageable.
