Job summary

A leading IT consultancy in the UK is seeking a Senior Storage Specialist to work on a fully remote basis. The selected candidate will build and support enterprise-grade SAN environments and manage Brocade/Cisco SAN Switches. Expertise in storage environments is essential. This contract position offers an hourly rate of £60-62 and extends until the end of October 2026.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Brocade Gen6/Gen7 FCIP Switches.
• Strong knowledge of SAN switch architecture and zoning.

Job description

Our client is looking for a Senior Storage Specialist to work on a fully remote basis. The role has been deemed Inside IR35 with an hourly rate of £60-62. This would be an initial contract until the end of October 2026.

Day to day responsibilities

• Build and support enterprise-grade SAN environments.
• Manage and configure Brocade/Cisco SAN Switches, including:
  • ICL setup
  • Secure configurations
  • Fabric and zone merges
  • Switch and fabric build-outs
  • Security policy enforcement
• Provide 3rd Line operational support and lead migration projects (e.g. Global SAN refresh).
• Design and deliver strategic enterprise storage infrastructure.
• Handle product life cycle management and ensure compliance with IT policies and standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expertise in Brocade Gen6/Gen7 FCIP Switches.
• Strong knowledge of SAN switch architecture, zoning, and secure fabric design.
• Proven experience in enterprise storage environments.
• Ability to resolve complex issues and high-severity incidents.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
