Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Storage Infrastructure Engineer to support a major UK organisation on a 6-month contract with active SC clearance. The role covers enterprise storage platforms, migrations, automation, and improvements within a regulated environment. 50% onsite with hybrid work and on-call duties.

The candidate will work across incident, problem, and change processes, delivering technical solutions and documenting practices to ensure service reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage environments.
• Experience with Dell EMC PowerScale/Isilon and Pure Storage platforms.
• Experience administering Cisco MDS SAN environments.
• Scripting/automation knowledge (PowerShell, REST API or similar).
• Experience in ITIL-based incident, problem and change management.

We're supporting a major UK organisation seeking an experienced Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join their infrastructure team on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a hands-on role focused on supporting and developing enterprise storage services that underpin critical business systems. You'll work across operational support, storage migrations, infrastructure delivery, automation, and continual service improvement within a highly regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise storage platforms and associated infrastructure.
• Deliver storage migration and data movement activities.
• Investigate and resolve storage, capacity, performance, and availability issues.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, and platform improvements.
• Develop automation and operational efficiencies through Scripting and tooling.
• Produce technical documentation and support operational best practices.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours change activity.

Essential Experience

• Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage environments.
• Experience with Dell EMC PowerScale/Isilon.
• Experience with Pure Storage platforms.
• Experience administering Cisco MDS SAN environments.
• Storage migration and enterprise data movement experience.
• PowerShell, REST API, or similar automation/Scripting experience.
• Experience working within structured ITIL-based environments covering incident, problem, and change management.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Must have an active SC Clearance

Desirable Experience

• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms such as Commvault or Cohesity.
• Exposure to Dell EMC RecoverPoint, VNX, or similar enterprise storage technologies.
• Experience with S3-compatible object storage environments.
• Knowledge of hyperconverged infrastructure platforms such as Dell VxRail.
• Experience identifying and implementing operational improvements.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and producing technical documentation.
