Storage Infrastructure Analyst (IBM Flash Systems, Spectrum Scale)

Remote and Coventry - 4 months+/RATE: £309 per day

One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a Storage Infrastructure Analyst (IBM Flash Systems, Spectrum Scale). Please find some details below:

Role Description

The Infrastructure Analyst - Storage will join an already established Platform team within the customer, providing a level of technical knowledge to undertake the troubleshooting and resolution to production incidents or problems independently, escalating to Senior Engineers if required. Completes tasks to agreed levels of quality, within stated timescales with minimal supervision. Looks for improvement opportunities within the team and its processes/procedures. An effective team member who provides support and guidance to peers and other team members. Contributes to team efficiency through the creation of accurate technical documentation where required.

Responsibilities
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve production service incidents.
  • Undertake technical tasks such as patching, allocating storage, maintaining scripts and configuring backups.
  • Effectively prioritise tasks to ensure high priority activities are completed first.
Specific Skills

Demonstrable level of knowledge in their chosen technical discipline. Essential experience of working in a complex, pressurised production environment. Financial services experience would be desirable but not essential.

Essential skills
  • Exposure to and application of IBM Flash Systems – knowledge and experience of replication using global mirror, metro mirror and change volumes.
  • Exposure to and application of cluster management within Spectrum Scale, Oracle and ESXi environments.
  • Exposure to and application of Spectrum Scale – protocols to include GPFS, NFS, and SMB in active-active topology.
  • Experience with GKLM (SKLM) or awareness of GKLM (SKLM).
  • Awareness of how actions can affect availability.
  • Provision and redaction of storage across the IBM storage estate – all technologies.
  • Experience of working with Linux command line technologies.
  • Experience of ticket management using ServiceNow.
Desirable skills
  • Appreciation of Cloud technologies (AWS) and associated features.
  • Knowledge of AWS server administration and features.
  • Some experience of working within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Understanding of VMware products including vSphere, vRealize & related technologies.
  • Understanding of Cisco UCS & HPE infrastructure.
  • Understanding of virtualisation architectures and some experience supporting.
