Stonemason

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for templating and fitting of stone worktops with precision and craftsmanship. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from small quartz worktops to large bespoke projects with natural marble and architectural features, utilising a range of specialised tools and techniques. The ideal applicant will have a strong background in interior masonry and related trades, with a keen eye for detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, and lay stones (mainly worktops) using power tools, hand tools, and specialised masonry equipment.
• Repair and restore stone onsite, relieving any snags or remedial works.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
• Assist with related tasks such as carpentry or roofing when required for project completion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Stonemason or in a similar masonry role.
• Proficiency in using power and hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, grinders etc.
• Templating experience with care and proper instruction.
• Knowledge and experience of working with natural and composite stone slabs.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills.
• Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions.
