Goods Inwards Stores / Stock Controller


Location: Hythe, Kent


Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Hours: 39 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-13:00)


A long-established UK manufacturing business based in Hythe is seeking a Goods Inwards Stores / Stock Controller to join their team. This company has over 50 years' experience producing high-specification engineered components and is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.


The Role

You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the business. Responsibilities include:



  • Accurately receiving sub-contracted orders and general consumables

  • Distributing purchased items across the site

  • Helping maintain accurate stock levels for work in progress and bought-in components

  • Supporting production cells with stock record accuracy

  • Assisting with despatch of finished goods when required

  • Covering raw material stores during holidays

  • Occasional delivery driving duties


About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • A full, current UK driving licence

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Good computer literacy, ideally with experience in stock control systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and adaptability

  • A methodical, flexible approach to work

  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn


Previous experience in a similar stores, stock control or warehouse role is beneficial. Experience with forklifts or side loaders is an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right candidate.
