Stock & Procurement Controller

We're recruiting a Stock & Procurement Controller for a growing engineering business where no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of keeping materials flowing through the business - ensuring everything is ordered, stocked, tracked, and delivered on time.

This is a vital, wide-reaching role. You'll be working across stores, engineering, and manufacturing - and you'll be the go-to person for purchasing, inventory, and systems accuracy.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Sourcing and ordering parts and materials for engineering and electrical projects
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms
  • Monitoring stock levels, raising purchase orders, and updating the stock control system (bespoke system)
  • Adding new items to the database and keeping records accurate
  • Liaising with stores and production to solve part shortages or picking errors
  • Improving stock control processes and system usage
  • Keeping the store function running efficiently with minimal disruption
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in procurement and stock control
  • Strong IT skills – stock systems, spreadsheets, and general system navigation are second nature to you
  • Excellent communication skills – you'll be dealing with suppliers and internal teams
  • A proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues
  • Someone who enjoys bringing order, structure, and efficiency to busy environments
