Job description

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market‑leading Energy company to recruit a Stock Controller for their Energy from Waste (EfW) Power Station in Glasgow, Scotland.

The vital Stock Controller role comes with a basic salary of £37,228 plus overtime, up to 10% bonus, private medical and other benefits. Responsibilities and duties
  • Work with Engineers and Technicians to quality‑assure incoming spares and assign spares to their correct locations.
  • Manage and control stock items, consumable and non‑stock items and CMMS stock.
  • Ensure accurate stock records are maintained, minimum stock levels achieved and availability of spares for planned and unplanned outages.
  • Perform regular stock checks as required by the Engineering Manager.
  • Purchase goods and services.
  • Re‑order stock items.
  • Receive all deliveries to site.
  • Use mobile plants to assist with deliveries.
Professional qualifications
  • Mobile plant operations certificates (ideal but not a necessity).
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
  • Previous experience in a storekeeper / stock control / stores related position, preferably in a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of standard procurement processes and best practice.
  • Experience with a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) is desirable – this could include Maximo, SAP, Piranha, etc.
  • A flexible approach to working and strong teamwork ethic.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
