Job summary

Merck Life Science in Glasgow is seeking a Stock Controller to join our Stores team. You will receive incoming goods, ensure items are in good condition, and log them into LIMS or Oracle for traceability.

Working with Quality Control, Purchasing and end users, you will help keep materials available in line with GxP. You will identify slow-moving stock, tackle expiry, and perform smart stock counts to keep the supply chain agile.

Qualifications

• SQA National 5 (or equivalent) with English and Maths.
• Stock control experience in any industry.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle or LIMS inventory systems.
• Experience in a regulated GLP/GMP environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety in materials environments is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and results oriented.
• Valid UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming goods and log into LIMS or Oracle.
• Work with Quality Control, Purchasing and end users to ensure materials are available per GxP.
• Identify slow-moving stock and prevent expiry to reduce waste.
• Perform smart stock counts to keep the supply chain agile.
• Support the Materials Supervisor to meet internal customer needs.

Your Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Stock Controller to join our team based in Glasgow. Our Stores team is responsible for the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring materials received are in good condition, fit for use and are logged into our LIMS or Oracle system. As our Material Handler, you will work closely with Quality Control, Purchasing & end users to make materials available in accordance with GxP and help resolve any issues relating to raw materials. You will be supported by your Materials Supervisor to meet out internal customer needs on a high throughput site. You'll own practical tasks like identifying slow-moving stock, tackling waste by preventing expiry, and running smart stock counts that keep our supply chain agile. If you're data-driven, collaborative, and excited to optimize processes in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

Who You Are

• SQA National 5 (or equivalent) including English and Maths minimum.
• Previous experience in Stock Control from any industry.
• Previous experience working with material inventory systems (such as SAP, Oracle or LIMS) is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP) is preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety in a materials environment is preferred.
• You must have good attention to detail and are highly results focused.
• Hold a valid UK driving license and be confident in the transport of materials.
