Job summary

GXO Logistics in Desford is hiring Stock Operatives to support a major EDF project. The role is full-time and permanent, Monday–Friday, 8.5-hour shifts between 06:00 and 18:00, requiring flexibility.

Salary is £16 per hour with 22 days of holiday plus Bank Holidays, and extensive training opportunities with funded accredited courses. Join a collaborative team and help ensure accurate stock management across the site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in stock control or warehouse operations is required.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks.
• Strong IT skills including Excel and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, with good communication and teamwork.
• Proactive problem-solving and adaptability to changing priorities.
• MHE license is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physical stock checks, counts and on-site investigations to support inventory control across warehouse locations using scan guns and the WMS.
• Ensure movements and checks align with operational and safety procedures, maintaining stock integrity.
• Support the Stock Management Operative in maintaining accurate stock levels for operational readiness.
• Perform WMS tasks delegated by the Stock Management Operative.
